JMC Academy

A fresh look for a creative industries institution

Established in Sydney, Australia in 1982 JMC Academy was originally founded to meet the local demand for qualified professionals in the entertainment technology industry.

We were was asked to come up with a design that incorporated JMC's updated branding, with a greater emphasis on media, to highlight the learning experience to prospective domestic and international students.

The process

/ Research interviews

Though research interviews with prospective students had been undertaken by the client, we conducted interviews with employees of the academy to validate key pages, content, flows and call to actions.

/ Sitemap

A sitemap was devised to align with the findings from the research interviews. From it, we were able to identify templates.

/ Wireframes

Wireframes of key templates were produced to provide a recommendations of content placement. This process helped to visualise the user flow of information seeking, to first point of contact or submitting an application.

The solution

Based on our research and input from the client, we were able to streamline the student pathway to engaging with the Academy by removing unnecessary features and improving existing ones.

In doing this we worked to bridge the gap between researching courses and first contact, notably fast-tracking users to course detail pages and application forms.
