Practice Plus Group

Uniting 10 sites in to 1 for healthcare provider

Practice Plus Group are a provider of private healthcare in the UK, with 10 locations nationwide. They came to Clarity seeking a redesign and consolidation of 10 separate regional sites in to one main mother site.

With this came the challenge of taking into account the relationship between locations, treatments and consultants and how this would dictate the overall framework of the site.

The process

/ Research interview

Working in close collaboration with the client we were able to examine key areas such as personas, user needs and perhaps most critically, the relationship between locations, treatments, and consultants.

/ Content mapping

Establishing the relationship between treatments, locations, and consultants was fundamental in helping us map the content required for key templates. The key was allowing users to seamlessly flow between these pages.

/ Sitemap

Combining the 10 sites meant we had to carefully audit what stayed and what went, so working in conjunction with another agency, a sitemap was devised to prioritise avenues to locations, treatments and consultants as well as other key services.

/ Wireframes

Once all templates were identified we produced wireframes for those that played a part in the key journeys, from general information seeking to making an enquiry.

/ User journey flows

Diagrams were drafted to envisage how users would flow through the new website, keeping in mind the importance of allowing them navigate easily to any of the location, treatment, or consultant pages.

The solution

The primary solution was to streamline the existing user journey’s by creating a series of ‘Hub’ pages where users could easily navigate to preferred treatment, location, or consultant.

An example of this is the locations hub. Formerly a static list, this map based page allows users to identify their nearest PPG location, allowing for quick access to individual location pages.

In redesigning the website, we also had the opportunity to modernise the interface whilst improving on elements of accessibility, a key element given the archetypal user tended to be more elderly.
